That was the standard back in the '60s and most programmers never got to touch a computer. Just hand the punch cards in at night and pick up a computer program printout in the morning. I'll never forget the day I found a whole stack of printouts on the desk, each one carefully labeled "Latest Printout." I sure was happy when they got around to putting dates on printouts. |
