Funny Stories ›› Funny drunk stories ›› funny drunk stories 001 The Wheelbarrow-500 Race So we were all together this past spring over to Ray's having a few sips. It was a nice day and we were looking for something to do. Then we noticed a couple of wheelbarrows down out in the backyard and decided to race them. We were obviously stuck for something to do that day. So we paired up; somebody big to push the wheelbarrow and somebody small to sit in it. For a while it was all going great. Racing the length of the yard and back, laughing our heads off, acting like kids and building up a bigger thirst. And then it happened. Paul was pushing and Danny was along for the ride. On the way back up the yard Paul hit a bump and Danny popped out over the side of the wheelbarrow. At first we nearly died laughing. But when Danny tried to get up he couldn't. All he could do was roll around holding his ankle. We figured then he must be hurt but worse than that - our bit of fun was finished. He ended up at the hospital where x-rays showed he had a broken ankle. For most of the summer he was going around with crutches and a cast and very pissed off. It's kind of embarrassing to tell people you broke you ankle when you fell out of a wheelbarrow during a race. We never did declare a winner in the great wheelbarrow race. Probably try it again next spring and get Danny to be the timekeeper. |
